What is Direct Mail in Left Main?
Direct Mail allows you to send physical mail (like postcards and letters) to your prospects directly from Salesforce. It is now fully integrated into Cadences, so you can include mail as part of your outreach strategy.


Is Direct Mail a separate feature or part of Cadences?
Direct Mail is now part of the Cadence experience. You can include mail alongside other outreach steps in a single workflow.


What powers Direct Mail now?
Direct Mail is powered by the PostcardMania app, which is installed within Salesforce.


Templates & Design

Where do I create Direct Mail templates?
Templates are created in the PostcardMania app within Salesforce.


Can I still create templates inside Left Main?
Yes—but now through the PostcardMania app, not the legacy Direct Mail tool.


Do I need design experience to create mailers?
No. PostcardMania provides tools and templates to help you create professional mail pieces.


Sending Direct Mail

How do I send Direct Mail?
You can send Direct Mail by:

  • Clicking the Send Direct Mail button on a record

  • Including Direct Mail as a step in a Cadence


Can I automate Direct Mail?
Yes. Direct Mail can be scheduled and automated using Cadences.


What happens after I send Direct Mail?
Once dispatched, PostcardMania handles printing and mailing the piece.


Cadences

Can I include Direct Mail in my Cadences?
Yes. Direct Mail is fully integrated into Cadences and can be used alongside other outreach steps.


Can I still create a separate “Direct Mail Cadence”?
No. Direct Mail is now included in the standard Create Cadence flow.


Which records support Direct Mail Cadences?
Direct Mail Cadences are supported on:

  • Leads

  • Opportunities

  • Contacts


Billing & Costs

How is Direct Mail billed?
Billing is now managed through PostcardMania, using a budget-based system instead of credits.


Do I still use credits for Direct Mail?
No. The legacy credit system has been removed.


Is there discounted pricing for Left Main customers?
Yes, please use referral code 1148626 when creating a PostcardMania account.


How will users know if they are close to or have exceeded the budget?
Failure emails will be sent to the “Run As” use. Generally, failures an be seen if you look into the order in the PostcardMania Orders object. This can be viewed in the PostcardMania objects tab in PostcardMania or if the Related Orders related list quick link is on the record page layout.


Tracking & Reporting

Can I track Direct Mail activity?
Yes. You can track mail activity using the Related Orders section on records.


Can I see when mail is sent?
Yes. Mail status and order details are available within the record.


What are the order statuses?

  • Pending: The order has been received by PostcardMania and is awaiting end-of-day batching. Orders in this status can still be canceled.

  • Canceled: The order has been canceled and will not be mailed or charged.

  • Processing: The order has been batched and charged, and can no longer be canceled. During this stage, PostcardMania completes address verification, quality control, and printing.

  • Mailing: The order has been handed off to USPS and is moving through the mail stream.

  • Undeliverable: The order could not be delivered, typically due to address verification issues or failure to meet USPS mailing requirements.

  • Delivered: Mail pieces from the order have started arriving in recipients’ mailboxes.

  • QR Code Scanned: A recipient has scanned the QR code on a mail piece (if included).


Changes from the Previous Version

What happened to the old Direct Mail feature?
The legacy Direct Mail system (Direct One) has been removed and replaced with the PostcardMania experience.


Why don’t I see the old Direct Mail sections or buttons anymore?
Legacy components (buttons, sections, list views) were removed as part of the upgrade to simplify the experience.


Why was this change made?
To provide:

  • Better design capabilities

  • More reliable delivery

  • A more scalable and unified outreach workflow

What’s the best way to use Direct Mail?
Use Direct Mail as part of a multi-step Cadence instead of a one-time send.


How many mail pieces should I send?
A sequence of 2–3 mail touches over time typically performs better than a single mailer.


Should I use Direct Mail or Campaigns?

  • Use Cadences for automated, ongoing follow-up

  • Use Campaigns for bulk, one-time mail sends
