What is Left Main Exchange (LMX)?

Left Main Exchange (LMX) is Left Main REI's investor engagement platform. It includes a branded Investor Portal that allows organizations to market properties, track investor activity, manage offers, and collaborate throughout the transaction process while keeping data synchronized with Salesforce.

Who is Left Main Exchange designed for?

Left Main Exchange is designed for real estate investment companies that want to market opportunities, manage investor relationships, and streamline the disposition process.

Is Left Main Exchange included with Left Main REI?

Left Main Exchange is available as a paid add-on subscription and is included with Enterprise Edition.

Is there a limit to the number of investors or portal users?

No. Left Main Exchange supports unlimited investor registrations and portal users.


Investor Portal

How do investors access the Investor Portal?

Investors can access the Investor Portal through your organization's branded portal URL. New investors can self-register, while existing investors can sign in using their portal credentials.

What can investors do in the portal?

Investors can:

  • Browse available properties

  • Search and filter listings

  • Save properties

  • Request more information

  • Submit offers

  • View offer history

  • Manage active transactions

  • Access transaction documents

  • Exchange notes with your team

  • Manage their profile and preferences

Can investors reset their own password?

Yes. Investors can use the Forgot Password option on the login page to reset their password without assistance from your team.

Do investors receive email notifications?

Yes. Investors receive email notifications for transaction notes and a weekly digest email highlighting recently published listings.


Publishing Properties

How do I publish a property to the Investor Portal?

Open the Transaction record and select LMX Actions → Publish to Portal.

Why can't I publish a property?

The most common reason is that one or more required fields are missing. The Validation Checklist will identify any information that must be completed before publishing.

Why isn't my property showing on the portal?

A property will not appear on the Investor Portal until all required information passes the Publish to Portal validation process.

Can I remove a property from the portal?

Yes. Use LMX Actions → Remove from Portal on the Transaction record to immediately unpublish the listing.


Investor Activity & Synchronization

What happens when an investor registers?

A Contact and related Account are automatically created or linked within Left Main REI based on the investor's email address.

What happens when an investor saves a property?

An Interested Buyer record is created or updated on the related Transaction record and the property is added to the investor's Saved Properties list.

What happens when an investor requests more information?

The related Interested Buyer record is updated and the investor's inquiry is captured for your team to review and respond to.

What happens when an investor submits an offer?

An Interested Buyer record is created or updated on the related Transaction and the submitted offer amount is synchronized back into Left Main REI.

How often does the portal synchronize with Salesforce?

Synchronization can run manually using Sync Now or automatically through the Portal Sync Scheduler every five minutes.


Transactions, Documents & Notes

Can investors upload documents?

Yes. Investors can upload documents directly within active transactions.

Can investors delete documents?

Investors can delete documents they uploaded themselves. Documents uploaded by your organization cannot be deleted by investors.

How do investors communicate with our team?

Investors and internal users can communicate through Two-Way Notes. Notes synchronize between the Investor Portal and Left Main REI.

Will investors be notified when a note is posted?

Yes. Investors receive an email notification when a new note is posted to their transaction.

What happens if a Transaction is deleted in Salesforce?

The corresponding listing is automatically removed from the Investor Portal.


Portal Administration

Who can configure the Investor Portal?

Only users assigned the LMX AdminUser permission set can access the Client Portal configuration page within Left Main REI.

Can multiple team members access the Admin Dashboard?

Yes. Portal administrators can invite additional users to access the Admin Dashboard.

What is Property Insights?

Property Insights provides engagement metrics for published properties, including:

  • Views

  • Saves

  • Inquiries

  • Offers

These metrics help your team understand investor interest and listing performance.

Do administrator actions affect engagement metrics?

No. Activity performed by portal administrators does not count toward property views, saves, inquiries, or offers.


Branding & Customization

Can I customize the Investor Portal?

Yes. Portal administrators can customize:

  • Logo

  • Hero Image

  • Brand Color

  • Homepage Content

  • Custom Domain

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes. Left Main Exchange supports custom domains. DNS records are generated during setup and must be configured with your domain provider before the custom domain becomes active.

What is an Interested Buyer record?

An Interested Buyer record connects an investor to a specific Transaction and helps track engagement activities such as saves, inquiries, and offers.

Will Left Main Exchange continue to receive new features?

Yes. Left Main Exchange is an evolving platform and additional enhancements, integrations, and capabilities will continue to be released over time.
